Look out Maine, here I come (again)!

It’s official. I’m going back to Whitehead Light Station for the knitting retreat again this year. There’s still room, so if you’re interested, please check it out. WLS I can’t say enough about the fabulous staff. They take such good care of us and are very knowledgable about the island and surrounding area. We went on some really cool boat trips exploring the other islands in the Penobscot Bay area.

For me this is a truly magical place and I’m so thrilled to be able to go back again this year. I had one of the photos of the island as a screen saver on my computer for several months before I went. I’ll never forget walking on the island through the clearing of spruce trees and seeing the lighthouse keepers house for the first time and thinking “I’m really here”.

I can’t think of a better place to spend a week knitting, learning about knitting, eating fabulous food, including fresh Maine lobster cooked right there on the rocks, knitting, exploring Whitehead Island, adirondacking (see if you can figure that one out), and did I mention knitting?

Those are some die hard knitters! It sprinkled a bit our last morning and we had to take advantage of the photo op with the rain hats.

I’ve started laying out the knitting projects I’m going to take. It makes me giddy just thinking about it.

I hope you’re having a fantastic summer. Happy knitting, Shellie

    1. Wish you could too! Are you excited about San Fran? You’ll almost be in our neck of the woods. Maybe we can get together. Steph has a wedding in Utah so she won’t be going. I’ve got a couple other friends that want to go next year. It would be great if we could all go again.
