A little thrilling moment

Most and probably all, LYS’s (local yarn stores) send out newsletters letting their customers know what’s going on in their stores. New yarns, classes, patterns, books, etc. And of course I’m subscribed to many of them. Well today I received one from a yarn store in Portland called The Naked Sheep. I just love that name and it’s a great store! I’m scrolling through the email and instantly notice this really cool hot pink fingerless mitt. I take a closer look and think “that looks a lot like my Portlander Mitt”. And then I think “Wait, that IS my Portlander Mitt!” Wow. I replied to the email inquiring about it and the owner said it was indeed my pattern and she loved knitting them. This is the first time that I’ve seen a finished project that another knitter has made from one of my patterns. Pretty exciting indeed.

If you’re in the area, check out the store.

Next week at this time I will have landed in Portland Maine and will be on my way to WLS for the knitting retreat. Very excited to be going back. My pile of projects to take to work on is growing very rapidly. I’ll probably have to whittle it down a bit, but yarn is squishy, so I’ll bet I can fit quite a lot in my suitcase and carry on. 🙂

That’s it for now. I’ll try to send an update from the island, but the internet is pretty spotty out there, so I may have to wait until I get home.

Until then,
Happy Knitting
Shellie
