Cannon Beach Tee

When Heather of Sew Happy Jane asked me to design a piece for her upcoming Beachcomber Collection, along with Tamy Gore, I was thrilled! Heather and I share a love of the ocean and beaches, and the Oregon coast in particular. As Cannon Beach is one of my favorite places on the Oregon coast, that’s what I chose to name my tee. It’s such a fun coastal town, with great shops and restaurants and a gorgeous beach boasting the beauty of Haystack Rock pictured below. I have very fond memories there, spent with family and friends and my dogs. My mom, sister and I try to go for a weekend each September, and will be doing so next month.

The beauty of Cannon Beach OR

For the Cannon Beach Tee, I chose to use Heather’s Bouncy Fingering yarn, in her beautiful greenish-gray colorway, Fog. I wanted to create a light, airy tee with a bit of lace, along with a bit of texture. The tee has elbow length sleeves and slight A-line shaping for a little extra movement at the hips.

Tamy Gore’s shawl Zania ~

Here are a couple photos of Tamy’s beautiful shawl Zania, and her description:

A crescent shaped shawl knit in SHJ Springy Sport yarn, Zania begins with simple stripes and short rows that then move into a gorgeous, flowy lace edging that frames the shawl. Knit the the beautiful cool colors of Earth Moves and Fog, Zania’s colors are reminiscent of an early, misty morning on the beach.
